Eda L. Ortiz-Bey

Ms. Ortiz has over 20 years of litigation practice and experience.  Her work focuses mainly on labor and employment litigation before Puerto Rico state courts and administrative agencies.  Her practice includes wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and unemployment claims.  Ms. Ortiz also assists and defends employers in administrative cases before the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs, the Puerto Rico State Insurance Fund, the Industrial Commission of Puerto Rico, and the Social Security Administration.  Likewise, Ms. Ortiz assists charities and non-profit organizations in the application for tax-exempt status under the IRS Code. Ms. Ortiz also has ample experience in other civil litigation areas, including torts, money collections, Family Law, estate planning and inheritance law. Ms. Ortiz is an experienced public notary, with ample practice in drafting and reviewing all types of public instruments, including real estate transactions, corporate resolutions, wills, powers of attorney and mortgage cancellations.
